“2008…beginning in the spring time, things are going to begin happening
here in the United States, and there’ll be about at six-month period of time that brings us to our demise…with nuclear
weapons…I am a prophet…God has not sent a prophet for nearly 2,000 years to this earth; the last one was our Messiah…if
someone says something and it doesn’t come to pass, they’re false. That’s what is referred to as a false
prophet.” Most futurists are smart enough not to trap themselves by attaching dates to their predictions. Many have been burned by this practice after making their own irresponsible pronouncements or have witnessed others getting caught. But not only is Weinland uttering some of the most outrageous predictions extant today, he has all but hung himself and guaranteed a quick end to his “ministry” by clearly declaring that a specific major event must occur in less than one year: in the spring of 2008, the United States will experience a nuclear attack that will destroy her major cities. Christ returns 3½ years later. We won’t need to wait for Christ’s return to know whether Weinland is genuine. If the nuclear attack doesn’t take place by the summer of ’08, then he’s a false prophet. He even says so. There’s a lot hanging in the balance here. Either Weinland is the first true prophet since Jesus Christ, or he’s just an especially stupid false prophet who would have been stoned to death had he made the same mistake in ancient Israel. (Deut. 18:20-22). We wonder whether Weinland will do the honorable thing when all this fails: return the tithe money he’s been collecting from biddable Christians. Who gets the leather chair, the snazzy globe and the cuff links? The good news here is that Weinland’s income will soon vanish, and his victims will be able to save 10% of their incomes to spend on something useful. Weinland’s website: http://www.endtime2008.com |
